Foreign residents to vote.

Marbella mayor has been encouraging foreign residents to vote in the upcoming local elections.

The local elections are to be held on the Sunday 26 May and Angeles Muñoz, the mayor of Marbella, has urged foreign residents to exercise their right to vote.

Marbella has over 40,000 foreign residents registered in the town, yet the percentage of them that actually turnout to vote in the local elections is historically low. Muñoz, who is again the Partido Popular's candidate for mayor, highlighted that only around ten per cent of foreign residents of Marbella eligible to vote had expressed an intention to actually to do so on the day.

The mayor addressed foreign residents and the media in Las Chapas last week, in which she emphasised the importance of residents registered to vote to turn out on ballot day.
